I checked out North Tonawanda's #shopwithpride🌈 event today 😄 ... Thank you @oliverstreetmerchants for arranging it!!
If you're in Niagara County, definitely check out and support @niagara_pride ... They're the only LGBTQ+ organization in all of Niagara County and its not a small county.
Of course there was tons of LGBTQ+ representation, but also *fostering* representation! Lindsey Rombkowski of @eertflair was selling their children's book "Foster"; I grabbed a copy of it and of their coloring book "Get Your Cray On" ... Coming from a family with adoptees, I love seeing representation about fostering and adoption.

This glass almost fell of my desk and when I caught it I pushed it towards me, causing it to fall on the desk and still break.
After I cleaned it up it got me thinking: Sometimes even with the best of intentions we can still cause damage. It's ok as long as you acknowledge it and do what you can so no one else gets hurt.

I see the world like this: Every person deserves basic respect whether I agree with them or not. I will always do my best to be of help to others because I would never want to be ignored when I'm in need. I forgive because I wish to be forgiven; forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting.
I'm not perfect and my anxiety has caused me to shy away many times. And everytime I'm left reflecting on why I didn't act, reminding myself on what I could of done. And aiming to do better the following time. Because when when we stop caring, when we would rather choose to ignore/avoid others because that's easier, "we parish".

My #vernacularsociety pin came in today!! 😄😁 ... Thank you @farmhousevernacular! I'm so happy to be apart of this and to learn new things 😊
The card had gotten pressed against the pin and had a hole poked through while in transit, so I took advantage of it and put the pin through while taking pictures.

I'm getting into patient advocacy and so making connections with groups that already exist and seeing what program are already around, and what I can spring board off of.
Today I joined my first family advisory council meeting. This hospital was my 2nd home growing up, and I was ecstatic to hear about all the programs that have been added since I aged out. I'm so excited to get involved! I was so nervous each time I spoke or asked questions, but I did it. I've taken a step that I've been too nervous to take for so long. I get to help create the hospital experience my mom and I dreamed of.

When I'm nervous I want all the sweets. I had a cherry donut for breakfast, chocolate for a snack and cherry pie for dessert. I also had oatmeal and chicken soup ... so there was some "good" food.

I was given this pocket rosary by my 5th grade teacher. Numerous times I've missed placed it, and numerous times it's found me when I needed it. I'm not the most devout person, but this little silver ring always helps calm me down.
Instead of using it to pray the traditional rosary, I use it to pray the Our Father in groups of twelve; finishing the last prayer with the doxology "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever."
Edit: So I posted about how I always find this when I need it. Well, I think I officially lost it on my road trip. It fell out of my pocket at a gas station and I didn't realize until we were an about an hour or so away. Someone else will find it who needs it ❤️

A beautiful mural by @american_mythos
This is only a small portion; the rest completely covers the side of a building.
As a kid, some of the trees on my parents property had vines hanging off them that I would try to climb like rope, or use as a swing. This reminds me of that, of the magical place I found in those woods.

I found my chifforobe!!
I now have a "coat closet" in my house 🥰
This beauty popped up on my screen last night and it was in my house by dinner time; the seller even drove it over and helped get it in.
I'm thinking 1940's? I have ideas on how to paint it, but we know it will be forever before I do it.

Another branch broke yesterday; the electrical company cut it off and I have a person coming to clean up my yard.
I now have an appointment in the fall to have the tree trimmed of any dead or dying branches so this doesn't happen a 3rd time.

I needed some way to relax that didn't involve electronics, so I did what childhood me always wanted to do: bought a @lego set.
(Because now I can afford them 😆)
This is what I made yesterday ... I didn't even open the instruction book; just dumped the contents and started building. Sooo worth it ❤️

Last night I met a snake named Louis. I'm now considering getting a snake 😂
I've always loved them. There's a famous picture in my family of 8 yr old me proudly holding a 6 ft python (?) at a birthday party. I also drove my mom and grandmother nuts because I ALWAYS had to visit them at the zoo.

Shout out to @wahi_studio!! Such beautiful chalk art at the Niagara Celtic Festival 😍
The image is of a kelpie, a creature found in Scottish folklore. They're a shape-shifting spirit (often described as large black horses) that inhabits lakes. Every large lake has one associate to it, while some non-lakes have them too. The most famous is the Loch Ness Monster (Loch Ness isn't a lake).
